District energy is a proven energy technology that can help cities and communities function more efficiently, increase energy security and can serve as vital infrastructure for cities, campuses and communities to provide high quality jobs. This year’s program will highlight the potential for district energy to help achieve climate change reduction goals for communities as a means of moving Canada towards a more sustainable energy future. Through the use of renewable fuels combined with efficient generating technologies, today’s district energy systems are an effective way to deliver sustainable energy in communities across Canada.
